Large Animal Massage

Maintenance Massage

A variety of techniques are used during these sessions to provide the right amount of therapy and relaxation for your horse. Areas of tension and discomfort will be treated, but before closing the session, your horse will be pampered with techniques designed to relax or stimulate the body based on your horse's needs.

Typically a horse receiving maintenance massages would receive 1 - 2 sessions per month. This may be adjusted as required to fit each individual's needs and budget.

Whether treated weekly, bimonthly or once a month, these sessions are perfect for all healthy horses, especially those that are performing/maintaining the same level of work each week or the retirees who just need to stay supple and loose!

  • Maintenance single session (approx 60 minutes) - $85
  • Modified single session (approx 30 minutes) - $45
  • Package of 4 Maintenance single sessions - $300

Note: Modified single sessions are designed to help the budget, while still providing therapy for your horse, but should be used in conjunction with standard sessions for maximum benefit. Session packages are designed to be used in bimonthly or monthly sessions and expire 5 months from date of purchase. Travel fees apply to all sessions.

Performance and Pre/Post Event Massage

Designed to optimize performance and recovery, these sessions use primarily targeted techniques such as trigger point therapy, stress point therapy and manual ligament therapy to treat tension and restore balance to the tissue. They are ideal for horses beginning to increase their performance abilities (including increased difficulty of frequency of work) or those moving up in performance levels. When scheduled regularly, performance massage sessions aim toward reducing the chance of injury from the increased effort and new movement requirements. They are also extremely beneficial before and/or after a performance or event.

Performance massage sessions are tailored to each individual horse's need and typical performance programs are 2 - 4 sessions per month. Frequency may increase or decrease as dictated by your competition/event schedule. This program is perfect for the rider who wants to increase the longevity of their equine athlete partner and their competitive edge!

  • Single Performance session (approx 45 minute session) - $70
  • Pre/Post Event Performance package (two approximately 40 - 45 minute sessions, one done prior to competition or event and the other done after) - $120

Note: Second Pre/Post Performance Package session expires 1 week after the first session unless otherwise indicated. Single Maintenance and Performance sessions are eligible for multiple horse and new client discounts, but Packages are not. Travel fees apply to all sessions.

New clinic dates will be added throughout the year so check back frequently. If you would like to do a private clinic or have a particular location or date request, please contact us with your specifics!

Clinics are limited to 10 participants and 5 horses. Limited auditing seats are available at each clinic. Sign up now!

Massage Basics Clinic

The Massage Basics Curriculum starts with an educational session including an introduction to massage and it's health benefits, basic anatomy and most common affected muscles by discipline, communication with your horses and acknowledgment of the horse's feelings, at home massage techniques, and an overview of stretching. The educational session includes a workbook for charting muscles and making notes. Following this discussion, we head to the barn for hands on practice of the at home techniques and communication with our horses.

$100/participant and horse

$15/auditor

Beyond the Basics Massage Clinic

**The Massage Basics Clinic is a pre-requisite to this clinic.**

Building on what we learned in the Massage Basics Clinic and following the same structure, the Beyond the Basics Clinic takes you a little deeper. We will cover an additional set of muscles that are often tight and have restrictions along with more techniques that you can use at home to treat those areas. During the hands on portion, we also dive a little deeper into stretching techniques and how to properly stretch your horse without injuring yourself.
